“ I have been a fan of their beer for a while. I was on vacation and had to make a visit and the taproom was a cool spot to see. Rustic brewery vibes and the food was delicious. The bartender was very friendly. Overall a fun time and I recommend. ”
“ Very fun spot. I came on Wednesday and got the wings special and it was delicious and came with a beer. Sculpin is $5 weekdays from 3-5 and that's all Sculpins. Also gotta give a shout out to the bartender named Ryan; very friendly, very nice, very knowledgeable. ”
“ First time in Little Italy. It was 11am so plenty of street parking. Walked in and ordered at counter. The staff explained the specials. I ordered the Calico- Amber Ale and Ballast Point burger. Everything was good. Burger was smashed burger. Fries were nice and crispy. Enjoyed watching locals walk their dogs and catching planes on final descent to SAN. Great place for groups. Several tables ordered beer flights. Will be back for that next time! ”
“ Great food and great beers! Came in for the first time while I was in town for the day. Staff were friendly. I ordered the lunch special el pastor chicken sandwich with a salad & a pineapple sculpin IPA. I ate everything. Loved the salad and the brioche bun with the pineapple slaw was perfect together. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in town. ”
“ Years later and I'm still a big fan of all Ballast Point locations. This is their R&D location so you'll find a lot of their classics but also some fun and creative options. It's a large location with seating out front, inside, and a large back patio that also has some cabana spaces that you can reserve. I enjoyed a Kingfish Wheat and a Hazy Sculpin along with some Birria Street Tacos filled with juicy, tender shredded beef. Shareables, salads and handhelds make up the rest of the menu so you can be sure to be satisfied with both food and beer, and friendly and welcoming service from the staff behind the bar. ”
“ If I lived in the neighborhood, this would definitely be one of my regular hangout spots. I love the chill vibe. There are several TVs for catching a game, a fun food menu, and of course, the beer! With so many options available, I love that you can build your own flight or order tasters to try out a few options before making a decision. I really enjoyed the Hazy Sculpin and Calico. ”
“ I've been here several times, and the staff is always friendly. The food is consistently delicious, but the beer has been underwhelming, especially since the buyout. They occasionally host events, and I attended the PubPass event this past Monday. Even the employees seemed unaware of it, and the host arrived about 10 minutes late. Despite that, it was still a fun experience--we received a lifelong app subscription and a free beer. Parking can be tricky on weekends, but overall, the staff are welcoming, the place is clean and lively, and the food is great. The beer, however, could use some improvement. ”
“ Love this brewery. Great beers, food, and service. Cool merchandise, chill vibe, and large open location. Only negative thing about this place is the parking. There are a variety of beers on tap for all palates. My personal favorite is their Speedboat, a light crisp ale with a hint of salt and lime. They have food available, from nachos, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wings, fries, mac n cheese, pretzel bites and my favorite- birria tacos! The tacos are filling, juicy, flavorful, and amazingly delicious. A must. There is outdoor and indoor seating available. Cool merchandise, clean bathrooms, good service, and reasonable prices. There are barcodes affixed to the tables. It allows you to scan for the menu, order, and pay. Without even having to get up and/or wait for someone to take your order. Very convenient. The only downside is the parking situation. There is only street parking available, and depending on time and day, it can be challenging. Other than that, great place! ”
“ I went with friends one evening and it was packed as party events were occurring at the same time. However, we were seated at the outside table which was very nice as the lighting and ambiance were welcoming. There are lots of options to choose from brewery to wine to other types of drinks. As for food, there are several types of burgers, and you can choose regular fries or truffle fries. I got the truffle fries, and they were delicious and savory! The burger was so flavorful and juicy too with the crispy onions. ”
